Fill the frame with the printed label and hold steady. Capture sharp frame uses fast PP-OCRv4 on your device, selecting a high-resolution still or the sharpest live frame automatically. The model downloads once (≈16 MB, cached); your image never leaves this device.
Method
Conditions = cross-source consensus of open slicer + manufacturer data (OFD·MIT, Orca/Prusa/Bambu·AGPL, Cura·CC0). Temperature is a range — strength picks the max (higher nozzle temp → stronger layer bond; ~+20 °C headroom above optimal before quality fails, per 948k CAXTON frames). Not measured optima; single-source materials are flagged, and cross-confirmed ones show their source spread.
Open RFID ecosystem — tags & readers
ParaMat3D's current browser writer creates an OpenSpool 1.0 JSON NDEF record via
Web NFC ("Write OpenSpool NFC" on any material; Chrome on Android — no app needed).
Use a writable NTAG215 or NTAG216 NFC Forum Type 2 tag, as specified by OpenSpool.
The writer does not currently create OpenTag3D or OpenPrintTag records. Those are
separate encodings and hardware profiles. To read OpenSpool tags at the printer, the
community project below pairs an ESP32 + PN532 reader with its bridge:

Building the bench reader? Download ParaMat's first-fit ESP32-S3 terminal-adapter + PN532 carrier for the polymer-filament demonstrator. STL, STEP, fit coupons, source, and an explicit physical/RF validation checklist are included; actual adapter-hole measurements and physical validation are still pending.

Always run a temperature tower / calibration print, and never exceed your filament's or hotend's rated limits. Max volumetric flow is also a hotend limit. Verify with a quick extrude-in-air test at rising rates: the strand should coil out soft (fully melted); if it comes out stiff/straight you're past the melt capacity — slow down, run hotter, or fit a high-flow hotend. Method: Ellis' Print Tuning Guide .
Share anonymous usage counts. Off by default. When on, opening or exporting a material adds +1 to a public per-material counter — no IP, no cookies, no account, nothing personal.
